IMPORTANT PUBLIC ADVISORY
It was brought to our attention that our Partner, Atty. Benito Jose L. de los Santos, is being impersonated by unscrupulous individuals online. The modus operandi consists of sham emails and private messages which state that: (1) a newspaper ad captioned “Notice to the Public” was paid by Atty. de los Santos informing the public-at-large that a criminal case was filed against the recipient; or (2) a criminal case was filed or is about to be filed by Atty. de los Santos with full support from government officials and police authorities against the recipient. These fraudulent messages also indicate a mobile number the recipient can call for purposes of “clarification” or “mediation”.
WE STRONGLY ADVISE NOT TO REPLY TO SUCH EMAILS AND MESSAGES AND REFRAIN FROM TEXTING OR CALLING THE MOBILE NUMBER INDICATED THEREON. RATHER, PROMPTLY BLOCK THE EMAIL ADDRESS/USER, REPORT THE MESSAGE TO THE EMAIL/SOCIAL MEDIA PROVIDER AND DELETE THE EMAIL/MESSAGE ALTOGETHER.
Please be informed that neither Atty. de los Santos nor any of our lawyers will send any kind of claim, demand or notice concerning legal cases – let alone publish these – through email or social media channels. Moreover, our attorneys do not use public domain email addresses such as Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook or AOL for work-related matters.
